Roof Inspection Tips
7/9/2021 (Permalink)
No matter the material (shingles, tin, etc.), your roof is your home’s first line of defense against storms. Before rain clouds loom overhead, now would be a good time to inspect your roof to prevent experiencing possible water damage. Completing maintenance on your roof when necessary is crucial to extend the life of your rooftop and to prevent high-cost damages such as water damage, mold remediation, or high electric bills. Follow these steps when inspecting your roof for damage this spring:
- Check for visible signs of damage and aging such as sagging, punctures, or missing material on the exterior of the house.
- Clean your gutters. Gutters direct rain away from your home, protecting it in the process. Make sure to remove any leaves or debris that may block the flow of water and to see if the gutters are properly sealed.
- Check the attic space for evidence of any water leaks or mold growth.
If there is damage found during your inspection, contacting a trusted roofer would be a wise decision. If there is existing water or mold damage found, SERVPRO of Jackson & Ross, Athens & Gallia Counties is here to assist you 24/7 with our experienced team of production technicians!
